Doctor's Visit

Justin and I went to the doctor last Wednesday. We did not get a sonogram this time which is sad because we love to see our baby! The doctor did measure my stomach and it is in the normal range. Although he was surprised by that. Also, we heard Megan's heartbeat - 145 bpm. It is so exciting to hear her and feel her.

I have been feeling her a couple of times a day. Most of the time it is just little kicks. She seems more active in the morning when I first wake up, but a few weeks ago I felt her more in the evening. So I don't know if there is really a pattern to her movements yet. We put headphones on my stomach last week and blasted David Crowder. I think she was asleep because it felt like she jumped across my stomach. We tried the headphones again last night and she just kicked where the headphones were sitting.

Last week, Justin read her a book for the first time. It was so sweet. He read Because Your Daddy Loves You. A little girl and her dad go to the beach for the day. All day long, she make mistakes and it talks about how dad could react to her (anger, yelling, frustration), but he doesn't react that way. He is kind and patient with her. He read so sweetly to her. I can't wait to see him holding her and reading.

In other baby news, we have registered at Target and Babies R Us for those that want to check out our nursery picks. We go back to the doctor on July 23rd. We will get a sonogram then and they will check her fetal weight and position. So stay tuned for pictures of Megan . . . .

Happy Father's Day!

Sunday was Justin's first Father's Day. He received a package from his parents that included several father appropriate books. A friend of ours brought him the tear-jerker book, Love You Forever. I got him the two onesies pictured below to celebrate that he is having a girl. He was very excited about all of his presents! He cannot wait to be a dad.

On that note - I want to say that my husband has blown me away! We are over halfway through this pregnancy and he has been fabulous. He has always looked out for my needs and supported me in everything that I am doing. But hands down, he has never been more wonderful than the last five months! He is so excited about being a dad. I thought there was no way he could get more excited. Then, we found out we are having a girl. He is so ready to meet his daughter and play with her and hold her! I am completely floored by his attitude. It is so fun to see his enthusiasm. I am so blessed to have this man in my life. Every day just gets better and better. I cannot wait to see him with our daughter. It makes the whole parenting thing seem less daunting knowing that he is ready for it and excited about it. God is so good!

Baby Clothes

Over Memorial Day weekend, we were able to meet Justin's parents and brother and sister-in-law in San Antonio. We had a blast just spending time together and seeing the sights in SA. Justin's mom surprised the moms-to-be with a baby shower! It was so much fun! So here is a picture of the clothes we received from her. Yes, that hoodie has bear ears on it! We love it. And I want to bring Megan home from the hospital in the pink cardigan, but I think it will be too big! Anyway, my mom contributed the five purple onesies set on the left. Five outfits for $10! Baby clothes are so cheap! I know - they will wear three a day and grow out of them as quickly as they grow into them. But look at these outfits! They are irresistable.

Go Bears!!

A couple of weeks ago, we went to visit friends and family in Waco. While we were there we decided to pick up a few "spirit" items for Baby Allison. We did not know the gender at that time, so we got two t-shirts and a hoodie. We bought each in a different size so the baby can show her spirit all year long. Well, we accidentally left our purchases in Waco. Our friends, Davey and Jordan sent them to us along with some gifts for Megan!! How cute is the cheerleader outfit?! The pink sippy cup says "I'm a Baylor Bear". So thanks to Davey and Jordan for adding to our Baylor fun! Justin and I are completely open to letting Megan choose where she wants to go to college (as long as she doesn't travel too far down Highway 6!). Go Bears!
