It's a Girl!!

Hooray! Today we had our gender ultrasound. Here is a picture of our precious baby girl. Her name is Megan Ashley Allison. She is doing great! My blood work came back normal and she is developing beautifully. We were able to share the news with both sets of grandparents and my brother and his friend. Everyone is so excited!! I have three more days of school and then I can start thinking pink!

Happy Mother-To-Be Day

My first Mother's Day has been so special! It is weird to hear "Happy Mother's Day" when I don't feel or look like a mother or a mother-to-be. It is also a little overwhelming to sit in church and hear a sermon about the role and responsiblities of mothers and realize that the preacher is talking to me! So it has been a happy and humbling day. I had some wonderful friends and family send me gifts for my first Mother's Day and I wanted to share. My mother-in-law sent me some lotions, a magazine, a book on Baby Signing and a book about organizing for the baby (she knows me well). My friend, Anessa, dropped off a beautiful card and the I Love You, Mommy book. It is so sweet and I cannot wait to read it to my precious baby. Finally, the picture of me is to show off the outfit that my husband got for me to celebrate my first Mother's Day. (And in case any of you arewondering if I am showing yet - I am still able to hide my baby bump! Hooray!)

First Major Purchase

So I have been scouring the web looking at baby products. Justin and I have been in Babies 'R Us and Target a thousand times looking at the same things over and over. I am a processor, so I have to think long and hard about major decisions and major purchases. We are hoping to use a lot of what we buy for our first child for any subsequent children. So I have read about safety and asked friends about quality products. Finally, today, we made our first purchase. It may not be a big deal to you, but I am really excited about our stroller and car seat. So here they are! The pattern is kind of a tapestry in black and white. The parts that look gray are actually black and white houndstooth. I love it!!
